Welcome to Board Of Education
-
The Board of Education consist of six members representing six geographic districts. Board members serve four year terms. Three board seats are elected in a presidential election year and three are elected during a gubernatorial election year.
The Board of Education is committed to providing the resources necessary to prepare our students to become creative problem-solvers while honoring the contribution of each tax payer. To this end, Pike County has remained one of the State’s, and one of the nation’s, lowest per pupil expenditure school systems. The Schools District’s has maintained one of the region’s lowest tax rates. Total school taxes levied has remained the same or decreased for the past four years.
