How will curriculum be adjusted for the 2020-21 school year to catch up students?
K-5: We will begin the 2020-2021 school year by assessing students to determine their learning needs. Once the instructional needs are identified, teachers will identify which skills and standards must be taught. As always, instruction will be differentiated so that all student learning needs are met.
6-8: During the first month of school, teachers in core content areas will include key standards that were not taught the previous year. As always, we will use benchmark assessments to determine where our students are in basic reading and math skills and remediate them as needed to get to grade-level equivalency.
9-12: The units of instruction for the beginning of the year for all contents will be adjusted to compensate for curriculum not covered and standards not met, as well as essential skills that need support in order to succeed in the next level.
